A virtual one-day Symposium covering the state-of-the-art in basic and translational malaria research.
The symposium will cover the latest parasite and vector biology research with an emphasis on new ways to control malaria, a leading infectious cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Our speakers use the range of molecular, cellular, and structural methods and aim to develop novel antimalarial drugs, vaccines, and vector control measures.

About the Conference

United Scientific Group, a non-profit organization, proudly announces a Virtual One-day Symposium on Advances in Malaria Research (MALARIA-20) held on June 29, 2020. The conference will cover the latest research into malaria parasites and their mosquito vectors. Attendees will learn about a broad range of cutting-edge technologies including molecular methods such as CRISPR gene editing and cryo-EM imaging being applied to control malaria and develop new therapies.

Malaria remains a global public health problem, with more than 200 million cases and 400,000 deaths annually. Increasing resistance to antimalarial drugs and insecticides used to control the mosquito vector threatens to undermine recent progress. Our speakers will provide their perspectives on the best strategies for controlling this important disease.

MALARIA-20 – A Virtual Mini-Symposium on Advances in Malaria Research that will bring together world-class clinicians, scientists, and investigators. This Virtual Conference provides an ideal, cost-effective format with as it offers:

  • (1) cost-saving – Engage without the expense and hassle of travel, hotel bookings, and spend your funds on Technology.
  • (2) convenience – attend from your home or work, without risk of travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • (3) focused presentations on the latest in malaria parasites and their mosquito vectors, typically before publication.
  • (4) Great Speakers - Experience powerful education, learning, innovation by internationally recognized speakers.
  • (5) Networking Session - Connects with Malaria Researchers from all over the globe to network.

Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is a leading product development partnership (PDP) in antimalarial drug research in its 20th year. Its mission is to reduce the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing and facilitating delivery of new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs. Since its foundation, MMV and partners have developed and brought forward eleven new medicines estimated to have saved around 2.2. million lives. For more information visit www.mmv.org
